Captain Walcott, born in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, October 4, 1840. During the Civil war, he served with the Federal Army, first, as private of Twenty-first regiment Massachusetts infantry, then as sergeant major in 1862, and after August, 1863, as captain. He resigned in August, 1864.
He was a business man of Chicago and New York, and was, at one time, President of the Monmouth Park Race Track Association, and at another, of the Chicago Elevated Railways. He married first, Ruth Robinson Morgan of New York on May 22, 1865. She died on December 29, 1883; and he married, second, unknown, in 1892. She was born in 1868.
He died in New York City on February 26, 1906, and she died in 1907.
