Biography
Ezekiel Ellis was born about 1760, the son of Ebenezer and Hannah Ellis of Sandwich, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]
On June 9, 1761, Ezekiel emigrated to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia along with his parents[4] [1] [2] [3] Note Moses Perry was married to Ebenezer's sister, so he was Ezekiel's uncle.

On April 28, 1791, he married Hannah Crocker, the daughter of Daniel Crocker[7] [1] [3] [8], and they had children[9], including:
Ezekiel Ellis II, born April 12, 1790, who married Zilpha Kinney, daughter of John Kinney and Hannah Weston[10], and who died in 1830[3]
Hannah Ellis, born July 23, 1793, who married Daniel Carney, and who died circa 1822[11] [3] Anna, born November 5, 1794, who died January 15, 1797[12] [3] Abigail, born August 31, 1796, who married William Bridgeo[3] In November 1796, Captain Ezekiel Ellis with his crew and cargo were returning to Chebogue from Boston in his 31 ton schooner Fox when they were lost at sea.[13]
