Biography
Hannah Ellis was born July 23, 1793, the daughter of Captain Ezekiel Ellis and Hannah Crocker of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia[1]
Circa 1812, she married Daniel Carney, the son of John Carney of Killarney Ireland, who moved to Little Placentia, Newfoundland with his family before 1794[2], and they had children, including:
Susan Carney, born 1812 or 1813[3] [4], who married Michael McGuire in 1832 in New Carlisle Quebec[5], and had children, Daniel and Elizabeth among them. Susan then married William Hurley in 1843 in Bonaventure Quebec[5]. Their children included John, Mary Ann and Sarah Jane.
Daniel, born in 1814 who married Ellen Gosnell and raised his family in Bathurst, NB, and who died in 1891[6]
Hannah was born in 1820, married Abijah Ring and had 11 children in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia[1] [7]
Ann was born circa 1822, she married John Hurlburt Jr. and had 2 children, William Henry and Alva in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She died October 11, 1893[1] [8]
Hannah died circa 1822.
