Joseph Royall Farrar married Phoebe Harris in Cumberland County 3 August 1762.

Joseph Royall Farrar (c. 1740) was a tithable in the household of Joseph Woodson in 1759. He took the oath of militia captain 17 June 1766.

He resided in Goochland County until about 1785 when he moved to Fayette County, Kentucky, where he died. Joseph married first 3 August 1762 Phoebe Harris.

He married second Mary Gaines 26 September (bond) 1774 and third, about 1783, Jane Ford, daughter of Thomas Ford.

The births of the four younger children are in The Douglas Register.

1. Sarah Farrar (July 1763 ) died in infancy.
2. Sarah Farrar (10 February 1765 ) married John Royster in Henrico County 6 May (bond) 1784.
3. Mary Farrar (27 January 1767 ) married William Harris in Powhatan County 9 December (bond) 1788.
4. Lucy Farrar (19 February 1769 ) married John Crouch in Goochland County 20 October 1787.

   1. Thomas Harris Crouch (14 August 1788 ).

5. Judith Farrar married Jordan Flournoy in Powhatan County 30 March (bond) 1792.
