To Joseph Woodson his stepson he left part of a tract on Willis' River, remainder of his land to his son Joseph Royall Farrar. Born on his father's plantation adj. Farrar's Island and the glebeland of Varina. In 1723 Thomas Farrar deeded 265 acres of land to him and his brother John, which they sold in 1728 when the family moved to Goochland County Joseph, who was exor of his father's will, had been deeded by him in 1736, 400 acres of his plantation on the Tuckahoe "where I now dwell." (DB 3, 182). "Upon his father's death he became heir to his father's landed estate but apparently lived on the plantation he bought of John Harris according to his will 11 Aug 1748/21 Nove 1749."

He married Mary (Royall), widow of Josiah Woodson. His will was dated August 14, and proved November 21, 1749. He bequeaths to his son, Joseph Royall Farrar, the plantation he bought of John Harris; to daughter Lucy Farrar, one negro girl and L100 current money; to daughter Elizabeth, one shilling; to son-in-law (stepson), Joseph Woodson, part of a tract on Willis's river; all rest of his land to his son, Joseph Royall Farrar; to wife Mary, five negroes and seven silver spoons; all rest of estate to son Joseph Royall; but his wife Mary is to have the use of helf the stock and household furniture during her life. Wife and sons-in-law (stepsons) John and Joseph Woodson, executors.

(DB 4, 48; 3.5.1742) and in 1749 bought 157 ac. of Nicholas Neal. (Goochland DB 6,6) Part of the land on Willis R. he willed to s.-in-l Joseph Woodson, the rest to his son Joseph Royall Farrar. His wife Mary and two sons-in-law John & Joseph Woodson exors, evidently as Joseph Royall Farrar was under age.
