About Caroline C. Howle
Birth: Jun. 10, 1850 Cherokee County Alabama, USA Death: Sep. 27, 1894 Dadeville Tallapoosa County Alabama, USA
Caroline Burson was the daughter of David Lawson & Celia Ann McInish Burson. According to U. S. Census records for 1850, she was born in Cherokee County, Alabama in June of that year, which, if accurate, would make her tombstone birth date incorrect. She was married to Blount Hampton Howle on March 24, 1872 at the home of her father in Elmore County. Her mother was already deceased. Her husband's initials are incorrect on her tombstone, written as "B. W." instead of "B. H." Caroline passed away after suffering from uterine cancer for several months. Blount remarried to Emma Carleton in 1895.
Caroline and Blount were members of the County Line Baptist Church of Christ, located in the extreme NE corner of Elmore County.
"Souls of the blest, from the mansions of day, Look on the pilgrim and lighten her way, Wing your swift flight to the tomb of the dead, And with visions of glory circle her head. May her six children follow the path she weekly trod, and reach the home she rests in now, and dwell, like her, with God"
-Written by a friend, and part of her funeral service

The young lady standing middle rear is unknown, but believed to possibly be Mary Ella Howle, Blount's niece, the daughter of his brother George M. Howle.
Caroline's eyes were blue. This was a common occurrence in the family.
