About Caroline Rose "Carrie" Rhoads (Hauger)
Mrs. Caroline R. Rhoads, 85, Berlin R.D. 2, died Monday, Sept. 12, at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Somerset County August 17, 1864, the
daughter of the late Simon and Rose Anna (Rauch) Hauger. She was the wife of Elmer E. Rhoads, who survives. Recently Mr. and Mrs.Rhoads passed their 62nd wedding anniversary. Also surviving are these
children: Mrs. Susan Horner, Somerset; Mrs. Robert Maust, Miss Beatrice Rhoads and Harry Rhoads, all of Berlin RD 2; Norman Rhoads of Somerset, nine
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two children, Mary and Kimmel Rhoads preceded her in death. Mrs. Rhoads was a faithful member of Trinity Reformed Church, Berlin, and of the Second Society of Farm Women. She was a devoted wife and mother and was tenderly cared for by her children during her declining years. Interment in the Berlin I.O.O.F.
