CATHERINE LLOYD STATES (Henry Jr., Henry Sr., David) CATHARINE LLOYD b. Died May 1819 (a) Married WILLIAM STATES Jan. 27, 1807. Win. was from McConnelstown, Pa. (b) Possibly she was the wife of William States Sr. noted by Africa, ibid. "Deaths.... 1827. Feb. 3, William States Sr. of Woodcock Valley,(c) Some of the evidence is not too clear on this family. Africa, in writing of the daughters of HENRY LLOYD Jr. states that one became the wife of WILLIAM STATES of McConnelstown. (c) She must, then, have married William Sr. He is listed with 51 acres, and married three times. There was a William States from Adams Co. who was a German blacksmith. He was said to have had a large family, tho none of them are named, (d) The 1850 census of Walker Twp., Huntingdon Co. lists a William States, also with a wife, Catharine. This one appears to be the son of William and Catharine, and no record of other children has been found, tho there may have been others. "William States and William L. States were Directors of Walker Twp. school system in 1879. (e) and may have been descendants of William and Catharine Lloyd States. Did the middle initial stand for Lloyd?
