First South African Woman Judge for Horse Breeds.
Cecily Bourchier Norden (née Bowker) was an author, senior horse judge, champion rider and exhibitor and Stud Breeder. She is known for her contribution to the Riding Horse Industry in South Africa.
She grew up on the farms Glen Ovis and Signal Hill, situated in the Great Fish River Valley, 36 miles north of Grahamstown, where they farmed with Merino sheep, Blackhead Persians, Holstein cattle, Arabian horses and ostriches.
