Cecily Bouchier BOWKER, B.A., V.E.D., was born on 23 Dec 1918 Grahamstown, Albany, Cape Province, South Africa.

She was educated in 1936 D.S.G., Grahamstown where she obtained the Highest Matric Pass in Grahamstown.

She died Unknown. She was educated BA., VED. Taught English and Fine Art. Rhodes University, Grahamstown, Cape Province, South Africa. She operated a Maastricht Arabian Stud, one of the leading stud farms in South Africa.

In 1980 she was included in the American Book "Leading Women of the World in Agriculture".

In 1983 she was awarded the Honorary Life Vice President of 8 Associations for 43 years for Service in building up the Saddle Horse Industry in South Africa.

Author of 4 books including "Showing Horses in South Africa".

First South African Woman Judge for Horse Breeds.

Cecily Bourchier Norden (née Bowker) was an author, senior horse judge, champion rider and exhibitor and Stud Breeder. She is known for her contribution to the Riding Horse Industry in South Africa.

She grew up on the farms Glen Ovis and Signal Hill, situated in the Great Fish River Valley, 36 miles north of Grahamstown, where they farmed with Merino sheep, Blackhead Persians, Holstein cattle, Arabian horses and ostriches.
