Charles E Hoffman

Charles E. Hoffman, 84, formerly of Myerstown, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Cedar Haven, Lebanon. He was the husband of Carol B. (Light) Hoffman, who died July 3, 2007. Born in Jackson Twp., on October 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Elmer P. and Ida (Ream) Hoffman. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, 1 Star, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was employed at Bethlehem Steel, Lebanon, for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Mt. Zion and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by a daughter, Virginia wife of Robert Galebach of Lebanon; sons, Larry G. Hoffman of Myerstown and Randy L. Hoffman of Lebanon; grandchildren , Joseph P. Galebach of Lebanon and Brian L. Galebach of Columbia, Md.; great-granddaughter, Ashley N. Galebach of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Hoffman; and sister, Mary Deitzler. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Monday at 10 a.m. Interment at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Zion.
