Christian Brimmer

Obituary: "Death of a Well Known Citizen. Mr. Christian Brimmer, a well known citizen of this place, died at his home with his brother Levi, on Thursday morning, in the 64th year of his age. For many years Mr. Brimmer was a very active citizen of this town, taking an interest in works of improvement. In the building of the railroad to this place he was particularly interested and spent many days soliciting subscriptions for stock, and doing other work to help the venture. For several years past he has been failing in health, having had several paralytic strokes, and for a long while he had been almost entirely helpless." Death Notice: "Brimmer. October 25, 1883, in New Holland, Christian Brimmer, aged 63 years, 9 months and 1 day. The relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, tomorrow (Sunday) morning at 10 o'clock." [New Holland Clarion, Sat., Oct. 27, 1883, page 3]
