Obituary: "Levi Brimmer, one of the oldest and best known residents of New Holland, died at his home on Brimmer avenue, on Tuesday morning, at the advanced age of nearly eighty years. He had been failing in health for some time and about ten days ago he had a stroke of apoplexy, which ended his career. Mr. Brimmer was a decendant of one of the oldest families of this town. He was a farmer by occupation and for a time was also engaged at brickmaking, but for several years past he had been living in retirement. He is survived by his wife and three sons: Henry, of Philadelphia; Miller, residing near Churchtown and Levi, residing in this borough, and five daughters: Catharine, wife of George Smith, of this borough; Susan, wife of John Peters, of Oxford; Fannie, wife of James Harbison, of Honeybrook; Maggie, wife of David McClure, of Downingtown; and Mary, wife of James Gay, of Coatesville. The funeral of the deceased will take place this morning at 10 o'clock." [New Holland Clarion, Saturday, June 19, 1897, pg. 1]
