.Kristine Boletta Benjaminsdatter was born on December 25th, 1853, in the rural residence of Holten in the municipality of Orland in Trondelag county, Norway. She was the daughter of Benjamin Mortensen, and his wife, Martha Estensdatter. Kristine Boletta was baptized in Skolen in Orland municipality in Trondelag county on May 22nd, 1854. Her godparents were: Hans Mortensen Holten; Anton Estensen Rishaug; Martha Mortensdatter(?) Rishaug; Martha Danielsdatter Rishaug, and Andrea Arntsdatter Hemdahl(?).

Benjamin was a fisherman and a farmer that was a self-owner of a farm. Kristine helped out her father with work and chores. Benjamin Mortensen had a young shepherd that lived at the rural residence, named Konrad Andersen, and that was born in 1860 in Orland.

Laurits was born in 1848 on Storfosna in Orland in Trondelag county, and lived in the rural residence of Dybvig in Agdenes in Trondelag county. The groomsmen at their wedding were: Benjamin Mortensen Dybvika and Ove Olsen Beian(?).

Laurits and Belotta's two grown-up sons, Bernt and Helmer Lauritsen, were listed by name in the census 1910 for Agdenes together with their parents and three siblings, as mentioned above. However, they were not present at the rural residence of Dybvika. Bernt and Helmer were absent, and were presumed to have their home in North America. Both of them were lumber mill workers.
