7. Christopher COMSTOCK2,32,33 was born about 1636 in England.9,19 He was baptized on 13 May 1636 in St Margaret of Uxbridge, Middlesex, England. He died on 28 December 1702 at the age of 66 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut.33

Christopher Comstock, born about 1635 probably in England; died in Norwalk, Conn., 28 Dec. 1702; mar. at Norwalk 6 Oct. 1663, Hannah Platt, bapt. at Milford, Conn., 1 Oct. 1643; she was living in Milford 1713, dau. of Deacon Richard Platt of Milford.

He settled in Fairfield, Conn., and was there 27 Jan. 1661, where he bought a house and lot; removed to Norwalk; was nominated for a freeman of Connecticut Colony 10 Oct. 1667, then living in Norfwalk; appointed to keep an Inn. He served as deputy for Norwalk to the Connecticut General Court, October 1686 and May and June 1689, and May 1690, the court in 1689 being the first which convened after the usurpation of Andros.

In 1654 he testified to visiting the convicted witch Goodwife Knapp, in company with Thomas Shervington and Goodwife Baldwin. The witch was wife of Roger Knapp of Fairfield. In 1692 he served on the Grand Jury which found an indictment against Mercy Disbrow and others for witchcraft.

His will of 22 Dec. 1701, proved 4 Jan. 1702/03; wife Hannah; sons Moses and Daniel; daus. Hannah Comstock and Mercy Comstock; every grandchild to have a Bible; wife executrix, and friends; Rev. Stephen Buckingham and James Olmstead, Overseers.
