Elizabeth Comstock, the daughter of William Comstock (b.ca. 1595-d. 1683) and his wife Elizabeth, was baptized on 18 Dec 1631, at St. Margaret's, Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Middlesex, England. 'Elizabeth, filia William Comstoc?? ' (See image of baptismal record, below.). Her death was recorded in the Vital Records of Saybrook, Connecticut Colony (under the heading, “The marriage the Children of Edward Shipton”): “His wife d. about the middle of Jully, 1659.”

Family

Edward Shipman (d. 1697) married twice, and had three children by his first wife and five by the second.

Edward Shipton was married to Elisabeth Comstock (bef 1631-15 July 1659), in the beginning of January, 1650/51. She was the daughter of William Comstock and (probably) Elizabeth Daniel.

Children of Elizabeth Comstock and Edward Shipman, recorded at Saybrook:

1. Elizabeth, b. May, '51; (1652-1683). Married John Hobson on December 3, 1672 in Guilford, Conn.
2. Edward, b. about the middle of February, '54; (1654-1711). Married Abigail.
3. William, b. June, '56 (1656-1725). Married Alice Hand (1670-?) on November 26, 1690 in Saybrook, Conn.

Some sources assert that Elizabeth Shipman was born in Hull, City of Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England.

Earliest Record: 1637. Per Comstock Family in America, and also Stiles: "... he [Willam Comstock] is recorded as having been one of the twenty-six men from Wethersfield in the expedition commanded by Capt. John Mason, that captured the Pequot Fort at Mystic, Connecticut, May 26, 1637, killing about five hundred Indians."
