About Clara Foertsch
Clara Foertsch, Wyndmere
Clara Foertsch, 94, Wyndmere, ND, died Monday, March 5, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge.
She was born November 4, 1895, in Iowa, to Ludwig and Anna (George) Pausch. In 1903 she moved with her family to a farm southwest of Mooreton. She attended country school in Barney. On February 15, 1916, at Mantador she married John Foertsch. In March 1916 they moved to Douglas in Ward County. Three years later during the drought they moved back to Richland County where they rented several different farms in Belford, Barney and Danton Townships. In 1936 the family moved to Wyndmere Township where they farmed until 1962 when they retired and moved into Wyndmere. Her husband died March 7, 1981. She has continued to live at home.
She is survived by two sons, Louie and Melvin, both Wyndmere; three daughters, Eleanor Durkee, Wyndmere; Isabella Howe, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and Mary Ann Blazek, Wahpeton; 33 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lena Nepper, Battle Lake; Agnes Mathieson, Seattle; Emma Lemm, Puyallup, Wash.; and one brother, John Pausch, Palm Springs, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John; two sons, Joseph and Raymond; one daughter, Hildegard Lunde, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters and one brother.
