About John Ludwig Foertsch
John Foertsch died Saturday, March 7, 1981at the age of 89. Mr. Foertsch was born September 6, 1891, at Marytown, Wisconsin to Baltas and Mary Ann (Seuer) Foertsch, and came to Mooreton, ND in 1903 with his parents. He married Clara Pausch February 15, 1916 at Mantador, ND. The couple farmed near Douglas, ND for three years, and moved to a farm near Mantador. In 1936, they moved near Wyndmere, where they farmed until retiring into town in 1962.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and three daughters, Raymond, Milnor, ND, Ludwig J., Melvin and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Blazek, all Wyndmere; Mrs. Isabella Howe, Huntington Beach, CA; and Mrs. Eleanor Durkee, Sunland, CA; a brother and a sister, Ervin of San Diego, and Mrs. John (Alvina) Krump, Hankinson, ND, 38 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a son and a daughter, a brother and a sister.
Casket bearers were grandsons Mike, Paul, Kenneth and Dan Foertsch, John Lunde, and Kenneth Blazek. Organist was Mrs. Barbara Haberman and Soloist was Mrs. Sandy Link, granddaughters. Funeral services were st St. John's Cemetery with interment at St. John's Cemetery.
