About Clarence H. Griffin
Born to Newton and Fannie Davis Griffin, Clarence married Adelaide Hancock on June 18, 1930, in Havana. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Joe and Jim, and one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Martha) Williams, all of Havana; two half brothers, Don Dufer of St. Louis and Dave Dufer of Springfield; two half sisters, Mrs. Carl (Daisy) Engel of Greenview and Dorothy Bailey of Petersburg; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
One sister, one brother, his twin brother and one grandson preceded him in death.
He founded Griffin Sales and Service, which he operated from 1939 until retiring in 1972. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34 in Peoria. He was Havana Township clerk from 1949 to 1985. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Havana.
He was a life member of Havana Optimist Club, where he served as president. He was a member of Havana Masonic Lodge 88, AF&AM.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
