Claude Eloy "Grand" Broussard was born in 1744 in Acadia. He died on November 14, 1819 in St. Martin Parish,
LA. (SM CH V4 #1306).
Claude "dit Beausoliel" Received the 4th Land Grant received from the U.S. Government, following the Purchase of Louisiana. Claude was known as "Claude of Acadia"; death record states that Claude died at the age of 75 years; succession was filed 1 December 1819 at the St. Martinville court house, succession #346.
