He was born in England before his parents came to America. Christopher Wormeley is listed as Sheriff of Middlesex, 1680 and Vestry of Christ Church, Middlesex Co 1666. Some sources say that he also married 1) a 'Mrs. Aylmer' & 2) 'Francis Wormeley'...however, Francis Armistead was the widow of Rev. Justinian Aylmer, Minister of Hampton Parish (and Lt. Col. Anthony Elliott).

John Lear to administer the oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy to the Burgesses. He also served on other important committees... In 1674 when the Government was active in its efforts to safeguard & defend the country against Indians, Col. Christopher & Major Joh Burnham were empowered to impress men & horses etc. from their county, Middlesex. He left to his son William, "land in James city called Poheten Plantation", slaves etc to Thomas and Judith, his land in Middlesex, "all my English servants, slaves, plate, linen etc...

In 1666 Col. Christopher was one of those proscribed by Bacon in his proclamation against Gov. Berkeley & his friends. This refers to what became known as 'Bacon's Rebellion'. Our family's ancestor Capt William Carver played a large part in this event & was hanged in 1676. (See his notes.)
