Taking his stand in front of the Confederate infantry at the battle of Second Manassas, Capt. Stribling’s artillery opened the battle for the advance and gallantly supported the attack of the Southern cavalry.* Reference: [https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/11829894/robert-mackay-stribling Find A Grave Memorial] - [https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783 SmartCopy]: ''Jul 7 2021, 20:27:32 UTC''
