He was the first Deacon in the baptist church in Greenwich RI in 1791.

Of his several children there appears to be no complete list. He first settled in Hopkinton where he executed several deeds. In the census of 1774, he was living in South Kingstown, with a family of 1 male over 16, three males under 16, two females over 16 and 3 females under 16. He served as the justice of the peace in 1767 and 1768 while living in Hopkinton, R.I. In 1775, he was a member of the Bottskill Baptist Church with his wife, Ruth, in New York. In the census of 1790, he was living in Hoosick, N.Y., with a family of 3 males over 16, two males under 16 and 3 females. He was first deacon in the Baptist Church in Greenwich in 1791. He was a trustee in the same church in the same year. He was a supervisor in Greenwich, Washington County, N.Y. in 1804. His two oldest sons did not move with him to New York, but followed him at a later date and settled in Argyle near their uncle William Kenyon (163) as shown by the military census of 1777 in the case of Samuel in South Kingstown and by a note that Robert se[verved%E2%80%A6]
