Biography

Parentage; Date and Place of Birth ===Damaris Williams was the daughter of Thomas Williamsand Mary (Macy) Williams. Her parentage is established by the fact that she is mentioned as Thomas's daughter in the distribution of his estate.<ref name="EstateDivision"/>

According to Mitchell, Damaris was born in 1698.<ref name="BridgeHist362"/> No source is given and this may be an estimate, but based on therecords of her death in 1795, which gave her age then as 97 (see below), 1698 seems reasonable.
Since her parents were residents of Taunton, it is highly probable that she was born there.

Move from Taunton to Bridgewater ===After her father's death in June 1706,<ref name="FatherProfile"/> Damaris's mother married, second, Rev. James Keith of Bridgewater.<ref name="BridgeHist214"/> Damaris and her sisters Hannah, Bethiah and Mehitabel were minors at the time and no doubt moved to Bridgewater with their mother.

Marriage ===Damaris married Daniel Howard in Bridgewater on January 16 1723/4.<ref name="BridgeVR2p408"/><ref name="BridgeHist193"/>
