Mary Macey

Her parents were Lieutenant George Macey and Susanna Street. She married Thomas Williams in 1679 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts.

Biography

Parentage; Date and Place of Birth ===Mary Macy, was the daughter of George Macy and Susanna (Street) Macy. Her parentage is established, in part. by a bequest in George Macy's will to his daughter Mary Williams.<ref name="Taunton62"/>

Mary's date of birth is uncertain. Based on the estimated date of birth of her first-born child (1680), she was probably born sometime in 1652-1661, with about 1656 being a reasonable estimate. Based on the fact that her father was a resident of Taunton during that time period, it is highly probable that she was born there.

First Marriage ===Mary married Thomas Williams.<ref name="Torreys"/><ref name="Taunton62"/> Their marriage is established, in party, by the bequest in her father's will to his daughter Mary Williams.<ref name="Taunton62"/> Based on the estimated date of birth of their first-born child (1680), they were probably married about 1679. Since both Mary'sand Thomas Williams' parents were residents of Taunton, they were probably married there.

Children ===According to Mitchell's "History of the Early Settlement of Bridgewater," Mary and Thomas had the children listed below.<ref name="BridgeHist362"/> No birth records have been found for any of them, perhaps because the Taunton fire of 1838 destroyed all the existing records.<ref name="TauntonVR"/> Mary's and Thomas's parentage of all the children except Macey are established by a record of the distribution of his estate.<ref name="EstateDivision"/> Their dates of birth are those given by Mitchell and may be his estimates. Death ===Some family trees show that Mary died on June 6, 1712.<ref name="Geni"/> No reliable evidence, however, has been found that supports either that or any other specific date of death.
