Father of James Burns Dies in Rhode Island
David Burns, 76, Sayleville, R.I., father of James E. Burns of Culver, died June 26, after a long illness, He was a member of the masonic fratenity in Scotland and the Royal Arcanum of Philadelphia.
He was born in Hollee Village, Scotland.
Surviving besides the son are another son, WIlliam of New York, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Hatch and Mrs. Harold Rafuse of Rhode Island; six grandchildren, including Dave of Culver and Tom of Miami, Fla., four great grandchildren and one sister, Miss Jessie Burns of Scotland.
Funeral services were held in Pawtucket, R. I., the following Tuesday, with internment in the Moshassuck cemetery. James Burns attended the services.

The Funeral of David Burns, 76, of 6 Arnold Avenue, Saylesville who died Satruday night after a long illness will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the H. P. Judson and sons Funeral Home, 172 Pine Street Pawtuckett.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Thomas R. Warfield pastor of the Valley Falls Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Moshussuck Cemetery Central Falls.
A resident of Lincoln the past four years
Mr. Burns formerly lived at Chelsea.
He was identified with Masonic bodies in Scotland and was a member of the Royal Arcanum of Philadelphia.
He is survived by sons, James Burns of Culver, Ind., and William Burns of New York; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Hatch of Salyesville and Mrs. Harold Rafuse of Valley Falls; six grandchildren and one great grandchildren and a sister, Miss Jessie Burns of Paisley, Scotland."
