Letters of administration were granted the widow June 9, 1653, and she bound herself to give to her daughters Anna, Deborah and Mary ten pounds apiece at twenty-one years of age or six months after marriage. She married, second, Abraham Blush, of Barnstable, in the latter part of 1653 or early in 1654.

William Burden, who married Deborah Barker, and Samuel Pratt (son of Phineas), who married Mary Barker, gave receipts to Abraham Blush on March i, 1660/61, and November 2, 1668, respectively, for the amounts due their wives from their father's estate

The first mention of Deborah was in the will of her father, she was to receive a legacy of 3 pounds when she reached 21, it was paid to her by Abraham Blush, (M.S.) in 1661. Her uncle, John Williams, was appointed her guardian and she went to live with him in Scituate, MASS. Evidently she felt herself ill treated by him, for Oct 6, 1659, John WILLIAMS appeared in court to answer the complaint of Deborah BARKER, daughter of deceased John BARKER, the said Ensign WILLIAMS was accused of having misused her. He produced many evidences of his innocence and the court could not find the accusation to be true, notwithstanding, she should would not be returned to him and was allowed to choose her guardian, and either live with him or be disposed of to some other honest man. The chose Thomas BIRD of Scituate.

(M.S. , Mayflower Society records say Blush not Blish.)
