Dirck ATEN was born 22 Aug 1721 in Somerset, NJ. The date and place of birth are based on an e-mail message dated 6/26/1998 received from Ms. Deborah Wilson. Dirck was christened 17 Sep 1721 and died 8 Sep 1809 in Northampton, PA. The date and place of his death are based on the same e-mail message.

He married Catherine WARNER after 1750. The date o f the marriage also is based on Ms. Wilson’s e-mail message of 6/26/1998.



Dirck "Richard D." Aten, b.22-Aug-1721 (to Adrian Aten b.1695 and Jacibje Middagh-Aten b.~1693), was married 1745 to Judick Van Fleet-Aten, in Hunterdon Co., NJ., but Judick died in 1748 (the year following the birth of their daughter, Japie in August, 1747). Dirck next married Adranche Langstraat (AKA Longstreet) in August, 1749, in Hunterdon County, NJ. Three children born before Adranche died, sometime after 1756. Dirck's third wife was Catherine Warner (married in 1766), and they had nine children together. By this time, he had moved to land that his father, Adrian Aten had purchased along the Delaware River in 1744 (in Upper Mount Bethel - Northampton, PA.), where Dirck farmed and established "Aten's Ferry" (a few miles south of the Delaware Water Gap).
