Dirk (71) was overpowered and shot dead, by an unknown number of attackers, when he went to inspect his water pump on his farm in Vredefort, on 4th March 2018.

Police spokesperson, Loraine Earl said the attackers fled the scene with Steenkamp's cellphone and firearm.
