Born on 2 November 1884 at American Fork, Utah. Student from San Anselmo, California, at Hamilton College, 1903-07. A.B. 1907. A.M. (Harvard) 1908. Ph.D. (Harvard) 1911. Member of Emerson Literary Society.
Postgraduate study and research in the Universities of Bonn, Freiblirg and Berlin, spending one seme5ter at each, then a stay of three months at the Naples Zoological Station carrying on investigations. Work during the two years abroad was done chiefly in the subject of Physiology, especially of the nervous system.
Instructor in Zoology, Syracuse University, College of Liberal Arts, 1913-14. Instructor in Physiology, 1914-16.
Has published, "The Effect of Colored Light on Pigment Migration in the Eye of the Crayfish," 1911, Bull. Music Comp. Zoo. “Photoelectric Currents in the Eye of the Fish," 1915, American Journal of Physiology, Vol. 38, No.3, September 1915.
