About Dr. Moritz Berwin
Moritz Berwin graduated in 1863 in the law studies in Posen. Moritz Berwin was a lawyer in Berlin and had a Ph.D in Law, a Juris Doctorate. He was married and may have had a daughter. At the time of his death he was listed as a retired Counselor of the Court and lived at Berlin, Kroneberg, Landshuterstrasse 21. His presumed son Dr. Lucian Berwin certified his death in a civil document.

Eva Berwin Niesser family records indicate that a Dr. Berwin was a Landsgerichts-Direktor, a high juducial position with authority over an entire State. This is NOT the same person. See another profile.
His daughter, was born in Gaeiwitz Germany according to the obituary in the Greensboro NC papers.
The town is most likely spelled Gleiwitz a some what famous town on the Polish German border. Famous because it was the scene of a Nazi attack before WW2 even started.
