Oliver Prescott, born on April 27, 1731 in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and graduated at Harvard College in 1750. He married LYDIA BALDWIN, daughter of Captain David Baldwin and Abigail Jennson (or Jennison). She was born on 10/5/1735 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He died in Groton on November 17, 1804.

He was a physician with a very large practice, and it's said he used to sleep on horseback. He was Judge of Probate from 1779 to his death; was a Brigadier General before the Revolution and 1778-1781 a Major General of Massachusetts Militia, Member of the Board of War and of the Supreme Executive Council of Massachusetts. He was a brother of Colonel William Prescott, who commanded at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Children were: James (succeeded his father as Judge of Probate), Oliver (M.D.; born on April 4, 1762, graduated at Harvard College in 1783), Lucy (his 6th child, m. Honorable Timothy Bigelow).
