Dr. Paul Mouton (1934 - 2008)

Brief overview:

Dr. Paul (74), a well-known dentist from Johannesburg was shot cold-blooded from behind with his own pistol on a shooting range after robbers allegedly stalked him. Mouton was shot at least four times, including twice in the back and once in the right shoulder.

Mouton's grandson, Jonathan (22), a Netcare 911 paramedic, had tried in vain to save his grandfather after arriving on the scene, Mouton's son, Paul Mouton Jr. (45), spoke from his parents' home in Parkview. What exactly happened yesterday afternoon at the Durban Deep Rifle Club in Roodepoort is still uncertain.
"We suspect my father walked towards the target after firing a few shots at it. "The robbers presumably then jumped over the fence (at the back of the shooting range) and stalked him," Paul Jr. recounted. They presumably took one of Mouton's handguns from the table and shot him from behind with it.

David, the janitor at the club, came across Mouton soon after, Paul jr. said. "Members of a mine safety company were training on the track next door and heard David calling out. "My father was still fully conscious at the time and could tell what happened."
