Ebenezer Stone, son of Simon Stone and Mary Whipple, was born 27 Feb 1662/3 in Watertown, Middlesex County Massachusetts.[1][2][3]
He bought land in New Cambridge (Newton) in 1686 and settled there.[3] He was a selectman for 10 years, a representative for nine years and "of the executive council".[4] He was commissioned a justice of the peace on 15 Dec 1724 and was also a deacon in the First Newton Church from about 1740 until his death in 1754.[1]
Ebenezer married Margaret Trowbridge, daughter of James Trowbridge and Margaret Atherton,[5] on 18 Mar 1685/6 in Newton or Sherborn, Massachusetts.[1][6]
They had children:[5]
After Margaret's death on 4 May 1710, Ebenezer married Abigail ____ (possibly Wilson)[3][5] on 12 Jun 1711 (intention recorded in Salem on 12 May 1711). She died in Newton on 12 Jul 1723. There were no children by this marriage.[1]
On 8 Apr 1724 he married the widow Sarah (Nevinson) Livermore as his third wife.[1][3][5]
Ebenezer died on 4 Oct 1754 in Newton, Massachusetts.[3][7] He is buried in the Old East Parish Burying Ground, Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.[8]
