About Edward Casper Strickler
Edward C. Strickler, 66, a member of a well-known local family, died at 2:45 a.m. today in the Good Samaritan Hospital, several hours after becoming ill. A retired Lebanon Steel Foundry employee, he resided at 1417 Miller St. He was a son of the late Edward P. and Eva Light Strickler. His father operated a flour mill on North Ninth Street. Strickler was well known as a basketball player and track star at Lebanon High School and Lebanon Valley College. He was a member of Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church and sang in the church choir for 48 years. He was also a member of the Men's Bible class of the Sunday school and the Salem EUB bowling team. He was a member of the Retired Men's Club. During World War One, he served in the Student Army Training Corps. Surviving are one son, Edward W. Strickler, Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Grace, wife of Basil Frisbee, Lakewood, Calif.; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Lyter, Pompano Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Daniel P. Klopp, Lebanon.
