According to 'Chester Family Heritage Page', Elisha married Harriet B. Fish in 1820 and had the following children in Lawrenceville, Georgia: Edwin Seymour, 1823-1823; Mary Ann, 1824, m. Albert Hanford and had issue; Augustin Mallbie, 1826; George Foote, 1828-1889; Henry Seymour, 1830; Emily Elizabeth, 1832, m. Albert J. Batlilly and had issue. I believe the only surviving son was George.

According to Middlebury College Alumni Directory, Elisha married Harriet Bliss Fish in 1825. They had three surviving children: Mary Ann m. Hanford; George Foote; and Emily Elizabeth m. Battelle. He was a lawyer in Georgia 1819-1832, Cincinnati 1832-1839, and New York 1839-1873. {Catalogue of Officers and Alumni of Middlebury College, p. 47, 1915, GoogleBooks, <http://books.google.com/books?id=X1wiAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA47&lpg=PA47&dq=%...>, 7 Mar 2008}

According to the obituary of his son, "George Foot Chester [was] the only son of Elisha W. and Harriet (Bliss) Chester, who were originally from New London County, Connecticut, [and] was born in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia, January 28, 1828. The family removed to Cincinnati about 1833, and thence to New York City in 1839... After graduation he studied law with his father, and was admitted to the bar in March, 1849. Shortly after this he entered into partnership with his father in New York City." {Obituary Record of Graduates of Yale University 1889-1890, <http://mssa.library.yale.edu/obituary_record/1859_1924/1889-90.pdf>, 25 Jan 2006}
