Elizabeth Sherman was 1st married to Sturges Burr (1760-1796), son of John Burr.

• Baldwin Genealogy says Simeon Baldwin "m. 2nd Elizabeth, sister of Rebecca, and widow of Sturges Burr." Sturges Burr's Will, signed 5 November 1795, says Elizabeth (Sherman) was his wife and his late wife Elizabeth (Judson), was the mother of his daughters Harriet and Betsey. We assume the first (living) Elizabeth was a Sherman since the Will says that Roger Sherman was Sturges’ brother-in-law.

The late Elizabeth was Elizabeth Judson since we know she was the mother of Harriet and Betsey. These two sources clearly confirm the fact that Sturges Burr and Elizabeth Sherman were married.
