Mrs. Elizabeth Bieker
Mrs. Elizabeth Hammerschmidt Bieker was born August 25. 1879, in Victoria. Kansas. She spent most of her childhood on a farm near there.
Elizabeth Hammerschmidt was united in marriage to Frank C. Bieker, August 10, 1897 to which union ten children were born.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bieker moved to the Russell community where they farmed until 1943, after which they moved to Russell and lived there until eight months ago when they made their home with a son, William B. and his family, Victoria.
Elizabeth Hammerschmidt Bieker passed away Sunday, November 1, 1959 at St. Anthony Hospital at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by her husband Frank C Bieker and ten children: William B., Victoria: Mrs. Marie Wells, Natoma; Mrs. Phyllis Novak, Gorham; Edward Bieker, Hesperia, California; Mrs. Josephine Hogan, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Herbert Bieker, Wallace; Albert, Morongo Valley, California; Mrs. Gertrude Alexander, Bogue; Mrs. Barbara Ward, San Diego, California and Omar J. of Victoria. She also leaves 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, one sister a brother, 6 half sisters and 3 half brothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Fidelis Church, Victoria, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery at Gorham. Pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. Bieker; Mark, Donald and John McMillin of Salina; Robert Wells, Natoma; and Kenneth Bieker, Wallace.
