Michael Bishop via Mailande Schrum: Elizabeth filed a petition on 15 Feb 1845 to obtain the benefits of an Act of Congress of 7th July 1833, which granted half-pay to certain widows of pensioners. In it she declared: "... was the widow of William Bishop, late Revolutionary Pensioner, Dec'd. who was a Private Soldier in the Militia and who received a pension of $33.33 per annum. ... she was married to the said William Bishop, about the first of April 1782, by Thos. Sherwood, Esqr. on the waters of the Tar River, in North Carolina. She remembered that just before the close of the War, her husband had to stand two drafts soon after their marriage, and at one time when it fell his lot to go, he hired a substitute to go instead, while he remained at home. .. she was aged 81 years at the time of this application ... she has a family record showing the ages of their children, which was written down many years ago at the request and direction of herself and husband by Edmund Bishop, a near relative of the family and whose age appears at the bottom of said record (January the 5th day, 1775), which has always been considered corect, and the record is hereto appended ... Her husband William Bishop, died 22 Feb 1836, Spartanburg District.

I have not seen anything to prove that Elizabeth was Elizabeth Agee, but most people think so.
