”The following is an order of the court dated 24 June 1702, York County, Virginia Wills and Administrations, page 599. 'David Holloway making humble suite to this court for a commission of Administration of John Matthews Deceased as marring his sole and only daughter Elizabeth Matthews which is according granted Simon Lacy and John Gyggons (?) became his security and accordingly entered into bond for the due performance of the said administration according to law and it is further ordered that Ralph Walker, John Wells, John Bozwell or any two of them meet at the late dwelling house of the said deceased on the fourth day of July next then and there to inventory and appraise the said deceased estate in the best of their judgement being first sworn before the next Justice and that a due return thereof be made to the next court.'"[2]
