Biography

Elizabeth Hilliard, daughter of Emanuel Hilliard and Elizabeth Parkhurst, of Hampton, N. H., was born 22 Jan 1653-5 and died at Dukes County, Massachusetts 4 Apr 1746. She came to the Vineyard as stepdaughter of Joseph Merry of West Tisbury. [1][2]

In 1673, Elizabeth Hilliard of Hampton, New Hampshire married at Martha’s Vineyard, John Mayhew.[3] John was a well-known clergyman of Tisbury and Chilmark. He died at the early age of 37 on 2 Feb 1688, and is buried at West Tisbury, Dukes County, Massachusetts.[4]
