According to the 1850 census of Berrien County, Michigan, the household of Patrick Mulligan, a farmer, and his wife Elizabeth, both born in Ireland, included the following children (in birth order): Owen, Patrick, Ann, Margaret, and Mary, all born in Ireland; and Eliza and Joseph born in Pennsylvania. By the time of the 1860 census, the family had settled in Clay township of St. Joseph Co., Indiana where Patrick continued to farm. From other records, it is known that they had a daughter Catherine, born in Ireland six years before Owen, so they may have had other children as well.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Oct 8 2020, 1:07:51 UTC
