About Elizabeth Payne

Not the wife of Timothy Collier

Disambiguation

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sheafe-8

Although Elizabeth Sheafe is sometimes said to have been the wife of Timothy Collier, there is an Elizabeth Collyer, presumed to be the wife of Timothy, buried 28 July 1619, Cranbrook. She is cited as married in the record. Timothy Collier died in about 1628, which means that this Elizabeth could not be the mother of children born to Moses Paine in 1620. The Elizabeth who married Timothy Collier, is likely to be the daughter of Edmund Sheafe and Elizabeth Taylor, who was baptised at Marden, Kent in 1593.

Biography

Elizabeth Sheafe, daughter of Richard and Margery (Roberts) Sheafe, was baptized at Cranbrook Oct. 26, 1589.[1] [2]

In 1615, Elizabeth received a legacy from her 'familiar acquaintance' Priscilla Giles. Priscilla was the sister of Jeremy Giles, who was married to Mary Sheafe, Elizabeth's sister. [3]

Then in 1616 she was a beneficiary in the will of her great-uncle William Sheafe of Cranbrook. [4]

Elizabeth died in Oct. 1632 and was buried at Tenterden, Co. Kent, England, Oct. 11, 1632.[1][5]
