Elizabeth Risby was born about 1550, but no baptism for her has been found.
She married to John Winthropp on the 6th Feb 1565/1566 when they were both teenagers. The marriage was not a success and after the birth of a single child-Benjamin Winthropp [who apparently died in childhood] the couple separated, with John agreeing to pay Elizabeth an allowance for life.
When John died in 1613 he did not leave her anything in his will.
She married, by licence dated 8 July 1617 to Reynold Braunch of St Saviour, Southwark.
