Biography

Elizabeth Macomber, daughter of John Macomber and Elizabeth (Williams) Macomber, was born in Taunton, Massachusetts on March 15, 1715.[1][2][3]

Elizabeth married, first, William Rounsevell.[3][2][4] No record of their marriage has been found. Based on their eldest child's date of birth, they were probably married about 1734. Elizabeth and William had the following children, all probably born in Freetown:[2]

William, b. about 1735,[2], m. 1st July 30, 1767 Rebekah Hoar in Middleboro,[5] m. 2d October 4, 1776 Gabrielle Demoranville in Freetown,[5] d. September 18, 1797 in Freetown[5] Joseph, b. 1737,[2] m. 1st November 5, 1757 Charity Spooner in Freetown,[6] m. 2d April 1767,[6] d. 1796[6] Levi, b. 1739,[2] m. 1st Betsey Howland,[7] m. 2d Mary (Gooch) Brown,[7] d. January 3, 1815 in Freetown[7][2] Sylvester, b. March 18, 1741,[8][2] d. October 7, 1743[8] Elizabeth, b. August 25, 1743,[9][2] m. May 18, 1761 Job Peirce,[2] d. 1819[6] Elizabeth's first husband, William Rounsevell, died in Freetown on January 31, 1744.[10]

Elizabeth married, second, William Ashley.[3][2][4] Their marriage intentions were recorded on May 31, 1746.[11][2]

Elizabeth and William had the following children, all born in Freetown:

August 23, 1839 in either Fall River or East Freetown. (See discussion and sources in Noah's profile.) Elizabeth's husband, William Ashley, died in Freetown sometime before December 23, 1783.[2][4]

According to her Find-A-Grave page, Elizabeth died in Freetown on January 3, 1815.[6]
