Record change 7-2007 failing to find definitive proof I am removing Elizabeth Frances Scott as wife of this Alexander Trent

from W. Edgar Trent (dec.), Chase City, VA who corresponded with me and whom many consider to be a first premierTrent researcher.

W. Edgar Trent notes he has no record of an indian being married to Alexander but acknowledges the story circulated in East Tennessee. He states Alexander Sr. was married twice, each time to an Elizabeth. (but he does not give a sirname for either Elizabeth

This was the record wich I had previously accepted as proof of Alexanders marriage to Elizabeth Frances Scott---Alexander married 23 Nov 1751 St James Northam Parish Elizabeth Frances Scott, in Manikan. (St James is in Goochland Co, VA at this time)

The actual record reads --Trent GenForum #2040 of 7 Mar 2002 by Barbara Marsh] The date I have on Alexr and Ms Scott reads "Married" 23 Nov 1751 St James Northam Parish ______ Scott, in Manikan. (St James is in Goochland Co, VA at this time). It was a transcription of the minister's records. It is found in "Documents Relating to Huguenot Emigration to VA & Settlement at Manakin-Town" pub. by the VA Historical Society. It contains transcriptions of the early records there. The minister was new and didn't know the people very well so guess he couldn't remember her name.

Upon further reflection the given name of this female named Scott who married Alexander Trent is not given and, I am no longer accepting this Alexander or this female as the Elizabeth that Alexander Trent Sr.b.1726 married first.
