Her daughter Doris recalls that she and her family spent several years in France shortly after 1891. She grew up speaking French and came back to England with family when 7-8 years of age. She is said to have refused to speak English so her parents had to speak English until she gave in! She forgot French so that her grandson could not get help from her when he needed help for French homework.

1901 aged 11 at Albert Street.

1911 at 1 Chapel Place with parents and grand father Cowley. Single.

1915 marries John Cant, a Lance Corporal, in the registry office in Cheltenham. Witnesses are her father and F.H.Cowley (possibly Frederick her brother.

1939 is with John, daughter Doris, and her mother in Marathon, High Street, Stonehouse.

Her death is recorded Q4 1942 in Stroud.
