Elvira C Shields

Mrs. Elvira (Farnsworth Shields, Pneomonia caused the death of Mrs. Elvira (Farnsworth) Shields in the home of her daughter. Mrs. S.P. Douglas near Cookport, early today. She was aged 79 years, five months and nine days. Mrs Shields was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wilmer) Farnsworth, and was born at Cherry Tree September 6, 1857. She was united in marriage to James Madison Shields, May 3, 1882 and resided in Taylorsville until the death of her husband eight years ago. Mrs. Shields was a devout Christian and member of the East Union Presbyterian Church of Taylorsville.. She leaves these children: Earl Shields, Commodore; Mrs. S.P. Douglas, Commodore and Clayton Shields, Ebensburg. She also leaves seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in Robinson Funeral Home with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
