Biography ==Because she was under 21 (b. 28 May 1846) when she married, her fatherhad to give his consent and hence had to sign the Marriage Declaration to indicate this. Afterwards they travelled by wagon to her father’s house on his estate Cleland (just before the edge of the escarpment when leaving PMB for Durban on the old main road, at the top of the hill that was always known as Polly Shorts). Then from there they rodeto Durban for their honeymoon. It appears that they went on to stay for a month at a “comfortable house” in Park Rynie lent to them bya Colonel Lucas. According to Shelagh Towert (Gallwey-11), “GrannyRunciman was quite a small woman. In spite of having had fifteen children her hair remained brown almost to the day of her death, at eighty two. She had twinkling brown eyes and a lovely smile. Their house was a haven for all members of the family, especially in time of troubles. A large garden at the back was planted with vegetables and the "offices” included stables for two horses and a "Coach-house" with a loft for storing feed for the animals”.

Correction? http://www.eggsa.org/newspapers/index.php/18-newspaper-extracts/nat... gives the date as 28 March. But it looks unreliable because the announcement of the birth was made in the issue of 5 June 1846 whereas the other announcments all occur within a week of the birth. Also, other records not available here give May. hence I have opted for May
