Known to to the younger generation as “Uncle Jack”, he was the archetypal rolling stone. He never married but adored children, lived in later years with his youngest sister Babs (Mirelle). He used to turn up at Mike Gallwey’s on occasions for a few days each time which thechildren greatly appreciated. He appears to have died in Durban on 25.10.1954 as there is a deceased estate file for that name then; he was dsp.
