Esther Caroline Porter Pratt

Jan. 25, 1913 (Saturday), Esther Porter is operated on for appendicitis at a hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. The operation went well. There were no complications. Still, she did not return home [the Porter family estate, Higganum, Connecticut] from the hospital until February 21,1913. She was accompanied home by her sister, Adaline. As per entries in the 1913 diary of her brother, Ralph W. Porter.

Feb. 21, 1914 (Saturday) Esther Porter is in residence at the Porter family estate, Higganum, Connecticut. Her brother, Ralph W. Porter, writes in his diary: "Esther went to Wallingford to the play and dance at Choate School. She left on the nine o'clock train."

Oct. 13, 1919--Orvilla Virginia Benson Porter (Esther's sister-in-law) pencils in her diary: "Jim and Esther married at six o' clock. The Pratts, Miss Warner, Jim's aunt from Lee, Mae, Gladys & the family were there. J & E left for a short trip over the Mohawk Trail. They looked sweet and young."

Nov. 25, 1937 (Thursday-Thanksgiving Day) Esther C. Porter Pratt and her husband, James, celebrate Thanksgiving Day together at their Connecticut home. Among their guests for Thanksgiving dinner were Philip Wells Porter, Sr. (Esther's brother), Orvilla Viriginia Benson Porter (Philip, Sr.'s wife), Philip Wells Porter, Jr. (Philip Sr.'s son), and Winifred Lucile Porter (Rounds) (Philip, Sr.'s daughter).
